Washington – A national Republican group is paying almost $300,000 for a last-minute TV ad blitz supporting Steve Wells in his GOP primary campaign for Congress against Brandon Williams.

The Congressional Leadership Fund, a super PAC aligned with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, plans to air the ads on broadcast and cable TV stations in Central New York through the primary on Aug. 23, a spokesman said.
