Syracuse, N.Y. -- Max Scherzer was diverted from a potential visit to Syracuse on Tuesday night by a much easier road trip to Hartford, Conn.

The New York Mets ace will make another rehab start for Double-A Binghamton when that team visits Hartford. Scherzer, recovering from an oblique muscle ailment, made his first conditioning appearance with the Rumble Ponies last week.
