32-year-old man shows up to hospital with gunshot wound to the leg, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. -- A 32-year-old man arrived at Upstate University Hospital with a gunshot wound early Thursday morning.

Around 1:29 a.m., the man arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle, according to a news release from Syracuse police.

He had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. He is expected to survive, they said.

Police determined the man was shot on Syracuse’s South Side. The shooting occurred near the area of South Salina Street and West Beard Avenue, police said.
