2022 Super Bowl odds: Bills make up over 14% of Super Bowl handle at Caesars Sportsbook

Buffalo Bills Super Bowl favorites at Caesars Sportsbook

FILE - Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (17) celebrates after wide receiver Gabriel Davis (13) scores a touchdown during the second half of an NFL wild-card playoff football game against the New England Patriots, Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, in Orchard Park, N.Y. An agreement that would commit hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer funds to build a new stadium for the Buffalo Bills is approaching completion, with New York Gov. Kathy Hochul confident a deal will be struck before the end of the month. Hochul on Friday, March 4, 2022, said many of the issues have been resolved, with discussions now focusing on what she called “the nuts and bolts,” including the length of the lease to ensure the franchise’s long-term presence in the Buffalo region. The Buffalo Bills came up short in last season’s AFC Divisional Round to the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the AFC East favorites added linebacker Von Miller in free agency and running back Breece Hall in the NFL Draft, and their odds of winning Super Bowl LVII are drawing a lot of attention at Caesars Sportsbook.

Buffalo Bills odds to win Super Bowl LVII

The Buffalo Bills check in as the favorites to win Super Bowl LVII with odds of +700 at Caesars Sportsbook. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs are next in line with odds of +800 and +900 respectively. The Green Bay Packers (+1100), Los Angeles Rams (+1200) and San Francisco 49ers (+1500) round out the teams within 15/1 odds, and for Conference Winners, it looks like Buffalo has just one team that is relatively close to their odds.

For the AFC Conference, Buffalo is the favorite and carries odds of +360. The Chiefs are next at +500, and they are followed by the Los Angeles Chargers (+850), Denver Broncos (+850) and Cleveland Browns (+1000). The Bills are locked and loaded for a postseason run, and they should contend for home-field advantage in the AFC.

Even though the Bills have the shortest odds to win the Super Bowl and AFC, it is not keeping bettors from placing a bet on the Bills to play into February.

Buffalo Bills handle at Caesars Sportsbook

A $1,000 wager on the Bills to win the Super Bowl returns $7,000 of profit, and Caesars Sportsbook has already received over 40 bets of at least $1,000 wagered on Super Bowl LVII on the Buffalo Bills.

That’s at least $40,000 worth of wagers which would return $280,000 of profit. These numbers may seem relatively small to sportsbooks, but the handle on Buffalo will only increase as we approach the 2022 NFL Season.

Bills Super Bowl tickets have accounted for approximately 14% of the overall betting handle, and they are nearly double the squad with the next highest handle percentage (Tampa Bay with a 6.8% handle).

What a Bills Super Bowl win could mean for Caesars

A Bills Super Bowl win would not be ideal for Caesars Sportsbook and their Assistant Director of Trading, Adam Pullen, said, “Usually you have a wide variety of bets for each team for Super Bowl futures. So I’d think it’s very rare that one team just totally dominates like the Bills are doing now.”

He went on to say that he wasn’t surprised to see Buffalo as a popular choice, “but as far as betting goes, for it to be that big of a difference is surprising, especially on a team that has pretty low odds.”

Clearly, the public does not mind the Bills’ short price, and Pullen added that “on paper, the Bills are obviously one of the top teams in the league. But there’s so much parity in the league, so much can happen. If you look at the sheet for Super Bowl futures last year, the Bengals were one spot from the bottom. Seeing that the Bengals could catch lightning in a bottle, you can’t really rule any team out.”

The Bills have not been to a Super Bowl since 1994, and they are 0-4 in the big game all time. Josh Allen has the ability to lead Buffalo to its first Super Bowl win in team history, and it would mean a dreadful day for Caesars Sportsbook.
