Bouncer reported shot in stomach at bar near Syracuse University

Syracuse, N.Y. — A bouncer was reported shot in the stomach near Syracuse University early Sunday morning, according to police dispatches.

Multiple people called 911 to report a man shot near Faegan’s Pub at 1:21 a..m., according to dispatches from the Onondaga County 911 Center. The popular bar is at 734 S. Crouse Ave.

Police on the scene reported a man in his 30s shot in the abdomen, they said over dispatches.

The shooting was not at Fagean’s Pub, a representative of the bar said Sunday morning.

The man shot worked for Orange Crate Brewing across the street, according to the representative of Fagean’s. A bullet casing was found near Orange Crate Brewing, police reported on the dispatches.

The Syracuse Police Department issued a brief news release Sunday morning confirming only that a 33-year-old man had been shot in the stomach in the 700 block of South Crouse Avenue. The man was taken to Upstate Unviersity Hospital and is expect to survive, police said.

The Syracuse University Department of Public Safety sent alerts out that they were investigating gunshots at 734 Crouse Ave. with Syracuse police.
