Syracuse, N.Y. -- When the Syracuse Crunch skates in the North Division semifinals on Friday, it’ll be a game of meaningful hockey the team hasn’t experienced in three years.

The Crunch, who won a franchise-record 12 consecutive home games before losing to the Laval Rocket in the regular-season finale on Saturday, hosts Laval again this Friday for the start of the American Hockey League’s Calder Cup playoffs.
