Clay, N.Y. — Amazon’s giant warehouse in Clay will open just weeks after employees at a similar center elsewhere in New York became the first in the online behemoth’s growing network to unionize.

The win by organizers of Amazon Labor Union on Staten Island came after workers there complained about poor safety during the coronavirus pandemic, ever-changing shift hours and lack of promotion opportunities.
