Kansas City, Mo. — As the clock wound down in regulation of the AFC divisional playoff game, Stefon Diggs made one of the most memorable tackles of the night, laying out a fan who’d gotten onto the field.
The Buffalo Bills wide receiver hammered a fan wearing a Kansas City Chiefs jersey, who had snuck onto the field and was streaking down the turf. As security chased the fan, Diggs came across the field and smacked him with a hard-hitting tackle.
Security wrapped the man up immediately after and took him off the field.
Tony Romo, who was calling the game for CBS, joked that Diggs was taking out some frustration on the fan.
“Oh, we got a little tackle on the field here with someone running out,” Romo said. “Diggs took out some frustration on him.”
The disruption came during the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter, as Buffalo was marching down field in an attempt to reclaim the lead from the Chiefs.
The Bills would score on the drive, but would go on to lose a heart-breaker in overtime, despite heroics from Josh Allen, Gabriel Davis and the rest of the Bills offense in the final minutes of the game.
