Covid testing at State Fairgrounds now available Sundays

Syracuse, N.Y. — Upstate Medical University will offer Covid-19 testing at the State Fairgrounds on Sundays for the next three weeks to meet increased demand for testing.

The Fairgrounds infirmary will be open for appointments 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 16, 23 and 30.

The testing site is also open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

Appointments are required to be tested at the Fairgrounds. There are no same-day appointments.

Here’s how to make appointments:

  • Those who have an Upstate MyChart account, should sign in at https://mychart.upstate.edu/ and self-schedule for a Covid test.

  • Those without an Upstate MyChart account, should visit https://mychart.upstate.edu/ and select Covid Test Scheduling—Non-MyChart Patients.

  • To make an appointment by phone, call 315-464-2778, press 0 and follow the prompts. Registration is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There may be a call wait time. Registration is not open on weekends.
  • To schedule an appointment by email, send your legal name, date of birth and phone number to CovidTesting@Upstate.edu and registration will call to schedule a test.

Upstate also offers walk-in Covid tests at Suite 1K of its Community Hospital at 4900 Broad Road Monday through Friday.

Both Upstate Covid testing sites will be closed Monday, Jan. 17, for the Martin Luther King day holiday.
