Syracuse, N.Y. ― A man was shot in the leg Monday during an argument with another man on the top level of the Destiny USA parking garage near Macy’s, Syracuse police said.

Police received calls of someone being shot at the mall at about 11:57 a.m. Monday, said Sgt. Matthew Malinowski, a spokesperson for the Syracuse police.

The wounded man drove himself to Upstate University Hospital, Malinowski said. His injuries are not life-threatening, Malinowski said.

Syracuse police, fire and ambulance crews were dispatched to the mall at noon for a report of a shooting, according to the Onondaga County 911 Center.

At least six police cars and an evidence van could be seen on the top level of the parking garage at the mall.

The mall and the parking lots were crowded with holiday shoppers when the man was shot.

The mall was not evacuated or closed after the shooting.
