41-year-old man dies hours after being shot at his Fulton home

Fulton, N.Y. -- A 41-year-old Oswego County man has died following a shooting in Fulton early Saturday morning.

Aaron A. Smith, of Fulton, was pronounced dead at Upstate University Hospital hours after the shooting.

Around 1:11 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting at 610 Rochester St., according to a news release from State Police. Smith was a resident of the Rochester Street home, troopers said.

First responders found two men with gunshot wounds at the home, troopers said.

Smith sustained one gunshot wound and another 41-year-old man was shot multiple times, they said.

Both men were taken to Upstate University Hospital. State Police and Fulton police would not comment on the severity of the 41-year-old’s injuries.

Police believe that the victims were targeted, troopers said. They said the shooting posed no danger to the community.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Troopers are requesting that anyone with information or surveillance footage of the shooting reach out to the Fulton police at (315) 598-2007.
