Shooting in downtown Syracuse injures 2; Red Cross building struck, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Two men were injured in a shooting in the 300 block of West Genesee Street in Syracuse early Sunday, Syracuse police said.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the chest and arm and a 26-year-old man was shot multiple times in his lower body around 2 a.m., according to Syracuse police. The men were driven to Upstate University Hospital in a car, police said.

Both men are expected to survive, police said.

The Red Cross building at 344 W. Genesee St. and a car were struck by bullets, police said.
