Syracuse looks to raise $150 million for athletics, will start construction on new facility entrance in spring

Lally Complex

Syracuse released renderings on Monday for a new entrance of what will become the John A. Lally Athletic Compex.

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse University announced on Monday that it is looking to raise $150 million to spend for its athletic department, with the thrust of the effort a construction project that will turn Manley Field House into the John A. Lally Athletic Complex.

Lally gave Syracuse a $25 million donation in 2019 to jump-start the project, which the school said will be done entirely through private philanthropy. Lally, a football player at the school from 1977 to 1981, made his donation hoping to help Syracuse’s entire spectrum of varsity sports.
