Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse center Bourama Sidibe will be sidelined for approximately a month after suffering a knee injury, according to a report from national college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman.
About an hour before Syracuse’s exhibition game against Pace on Wednesday, a team spokesperson confirmed that Sidibe suffered an injury to his knee. He is expected to be out for four weeks.
Syracuse junior Jesse Edwards is expected to start at center.
Sidibe, a 6-foot-10 senior, has battled the injury bug over the past few seasons. He missed the majority of the 2020-21 season after suffering a meniscus tear in his left knee in the Orange’s home opener against Bryant. He required two separate surgeries to repair his knee.
Sidibe did not participate in the team’s Orange and White scrimmage last Friday due to a bone bruise in his right knee. The team’s spokesperson confirmed Sidibe’s latest injury is not on the leg that required two surgeries last season.
Sidibe started all 32 games as a junior in the 2019-20 season and averaged 6.0 points and 7.2 rebounds.
