October brings a spike in Covid-19 deaths in Onondaga County; we’re on track for worst month since winter

Syracuse, N.Y. – October is likely to be the deadliest month for Covid-19 in Onondaga County in at least eight monthssince the tail end of the winter surge.

In the first 22 days of October, 39 people have died of the respiratory illness, according to county data. That’s already equal to the number who died in all of September.
