Syracuse, N.Y. -- Three more Onondaga County residents have died of Covid-19, County Executive Ryan McMahon said today.

McMahon said in a tweet that a man in his late 50s, a woman in her late 60s and a nursing home resident died of the disease.

In total, 744 people have died from Covid-19 in Onondaga County.

McMahon will hold a Covid-19 briefing on Thursday, where he will discuss the county’s plan for giving booster shots if they are approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

“We will roll out our booster shot plan tomorrow and will be ready to go when we receive the green light from the federal government,” he said.

Today, McMahon said today the county had 79 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, down from 119 on Tuesday.

The total number of active cases dropped from 1,007 on Tuesday to 982 today, he said.

Hospitalizations fell, too, from 91 on Tuesday to 88 today. The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care remained at 23.
