12-year-old stabbed on Syracuse’s South Side

Syracuse, N.Y – A child was stabbed on the city’s South Side Tuesday afternoon, according to Syracuse police.

At 4:45 p.m., police found a 12-year-old boy with a stab wound in his back at the intersection of South Salina Street and Brighton Avenue, police said in a news release Wednesday.

The victim is being treated at Upstate University Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

The investigation is active and ongoing, police said.
