Former Nottingham High School star Nate Knight signed a two-way contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday afternoon.

The contract was first reported by Michael Scotto of USA Today Sports and shared by Knight on social media.

Next season will be Knight’s second season playing in the NBA on a two-way deal.

Knight played his rookie season with the Atlanta Hawks last year, enjoying an exciting season and a run to the Eastern Conference finals.

While Knight’s production numbers were modest he played in 39 games with Atlanta, including brief appearances in six playoff games. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds and generated a number of fans with highlight dunks and high-energy performances.

The next step for Knight, a 6-foot-10 forward, will be to show he can hit the 3-point shot in the NBA.

After a decent start shooting the ball last season, his outside percentage dropped to 18.2, limiting his ability to be a versatile offensive player. He showed some promise shooting the ball in college and was also successful shooting during his performance at the NBA combine last summer, lending reason to believe those numbers have room to improve.
