Oneida, N.Y – A Madison County man was sentenced Monday to 120 years in prison after being convicted of 11 counts of various sex crimes against children.

Daniel Hatch, 41, of the city of Oneida, was sentenced to a total of 120 years with 125 years of parole, according to a news release from the Oneida City Police Department.

Hatch will need to serve approximately 40 years to life in prison with up to 40 years of parole, police said.

Hatch was arrested in 2019 after the Oneida police received reports of sexual abuse, police said.

As the investigation progressed, police uncovered numerous victims which led to more charges against the suspect, police said.

The victims were 11 years old to 17 years old, police have previously said. There were at least 5 victims and police believe there are many others, Oneida City Police Cheif John Little said.

Hatch was able to get close to the victims through friendships within his community, Little said.

Hatch was indicted by two grand juries, police said Monday. In June 2021, Hatch was tried before a jury and convicted on the 11 separate counts, police said.

Hatch was convicted of

  • Predatory sexual assault

  • Attempted criminal sex act, 1st degree
  • Criminal sex act, 2nd degree, 2 counts.
  • Sex abuse , 1st degree, 3 counts

Hatch will also be required to register as a sex offender, police said. He does not currently appear on New York state’s public sex registry.
