‘Everyone has to eat’: Man accused of offering Syracuse VA kickbacks on N95 masks

Syracuse, N.Y. -- A 30-year-old Bronx man was indicted Wednesday on several federal charges after being accused of offering kickbacks to a Veterans Administration official in Syracuse, federal prosecutors said.

Muhammad Z. Aabdin was accused of trying to bribe a VA contracting officer in exchange for awarding him contracts for N95 masks, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York said in a news release.

He was charged with offering bribes to a public official and using facilities of interstate commerce to commit a bribery offense, prosecutors said Wednesday.
