UPDATE: The woman’s death as been deemed not to be suspicious, police say.

Syracuse, N.Y. -- A 74-year-old woman was found dead Tuesday at apartments for seniors and police say they’re investigating her death, according to a Wednesday morning news release from Syracuse police.

Syracuse police have not yet identified the woman and said they will not know whether the woman’s death is suspicious until an autopsy is finished.

Officers responded to Brighton Towers II at 3:24 p.m. for a reported death and found the woman, according to Syracuse police spokesman Matthew Malinowski.

According to scanner reports, the 911 call came from a building manager at Brighton Towers II. The building manager went to the woman’s apartment, where a relative told the building manager that the woman had died that morning, according to scanner reports.

The relative refused to let the building manager into the apartment and told the manager he was “handling his business,” according to scanner dispatches.

Syracuse police ask that anyone with information about the woman’s death to call 315-442-5222.
