LaFayette, N.Y. — The former superintendent of the LaFayette schools is suing over a compensation plan once heralded as creative and a win-win for taxpayers and their top administrator.

Laura Lavine agreed to run the LaFayette Central School District in 2014 for just $30,000 a year. In exchange, she was guaranteed lifelong health benefits for herself and her husband.
