Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse’s men’s basketball team will play Pace in an October exhibition game, the school announced today.
The Orange will meet Division II Pace on Wednesday, Oct. 27, in the Carrier Dome. Pace, which competes in the same Northeast-10 Conference as Le Moyne, had its season canceled last year because of Covid-19. The league elected to cancel all of its winter sports, though a couple of men’s basketball teams (St. Rose, American International) elected to play independently.
The Pacers, coached by Matt Healing, were 19-11 in 2019-20.
Syracuse is coming off an 18-10 season in which it advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. The Orange schedule next season includes these non-conference games: the Battle 4 Atlantis (Michigan State, Baylor, Auburn, Connecticut, VCU, Loyola Chicago, Arizona State), the Jimmy V Classic (Villanova in Madison Square Garden), the ACC-Big Ten Challenge and Georgetown in Washington, D.C.
