Joan A. (Bierhardt) Ezzo

Joan A. (Bierhardt) Ezzo, 92, of Syracuse, died Saturday.

She was a graduate of the Fayetteville-Manlius school district and the Powelson Business Institute in Syracuse, according to her obituary.

Ezzo did secretarial work in Manhattan and Palm Beach. She returned to Syracuse, where she worked at the Coolican Advertising Agency. While working there, she met her husband Ronald Ezzo, WTVH Channel 5 news anchorman Ron Curtis. He died in 2001.

Ezzo was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at Holy Family Church in Syracuse.

For more than 25 years, she volunteered at Community General Hospital.

Ezzo lived with Parkinson’s disease for the last 14 years, but faced it with grace, dignity and humor, her obituary said.

Joan enjoyed reading, golf, tennis, and dining out with family and friends, her obituary said.
