Decisive loss at Notre Dame drops Syracuse lacrosse one spot in national polls

Syracuse, N.Y. -- The Syracuse lacrosse team’s 22-8 blowout loss to Notre Dame on Saturday didn’t cost the Orange much standing in both the media and coaches poll released Monday.

Syracuse (6-5 overall, 2-4 in the ACC) fell one spot in both rankings, to No. 9 in the media poll and No. 10 in the coaches rankings.

The top 5 in both polls was the same: Maryland, North Carolina, Duke, Notre Dame and Virginia.

Syracuse hosts Robert Morris 4 p.m. Friday. The Colonials (7-5) received votes in both polls this week.

The NCAA Tournament field will be announced Sunday night.
