Syracuse, N.Y. — One man was shot and another stabbed Sunday night on Syracuse’s South Side.

The two men were wounded during a dispute outside a home in the 1100 block of South McBride Street, said Sgt. Matthew Malinowski, a Syracuse Police Department spokesman. The two men are expected to survive.

Police responded to South McBride Street at 9:09 p.m. after a caller reported a shooting to 911.

When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old man who had been shot in the groin, Malinowski said. Officers also found a 32-year-old man who had been stabbed in the back, he said.

Both men were transported by American Medical Response to Upstate University Hospital.

The assaults remain under investigation. Police did not say if the two men are suspected of attacking each other.

Police asked anyone with information about the shooting and stabbing to call (315) 442-5222.
