Williamsport HS principal charged with sexually assaulting a student suspended with pay

WILLIAMSPORT – The Williamsport Area School Board has suspended with pay the high school principal accused of having a sex with a male student over a seven-year-period.

Roger Weaver Freed, 34, of Cogan Station, was charged Tuesday with 36 counts including sexual contact with a student, sexual assault, corruption of minors, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and furnishing liquor to a minor.

Freed, who was to become head principal at Williamsport Area High School in the fall, is free on $175,000 unsecured bail with an ankle monitor.
