Dickinson College holds commencement for around 500 graduates

Approximately 500 members of the Class of 2022 along with their families, friends and invited guests attended the Dickinson College graduation Sunday morning.

Nationally syndicated columnist and journalist Clarence Page, winner of the 1989 Pulitzer Prize for commentary and member of the Chicago Tribune editorial board, was the commencement speaker.

Among the honorary degree recipients were Judy Faulkner, CEO of Epic and member of Dickinson’s class of 1965, who received a Doctor of Civic Engagement; Lt. Gen. Laura A. Potter, deputy chief of staff for intelligence, U.S. Army, and member of Dickinson’s class of 1989, who received a Doctor of Military Science; and Barbara Jatta, director of the Vatican Museums, who received a Doctor of Arts.

College President John E. Jones III invited graduates to walk down the stone steps of Old West, a revered Dickinson tradition, as part of the ceremony.
