A 16-year-old boy from Steelton has been arrested in the killing of Keshawn Maurice Carter, who was shot to death last week, according to police.
Steven Roman is being charged as an adult with murder and related charges, Swatara Township police announced Wednesday. Online court dockets were unavailable Wednesday afternoon with further charging details.
Police said Roman shot the 20-year-old Lower Paxton Township resident while they were in the 200 block of Francis L. Cadden Parkway just before 9 p.m. on Oct. 7.
Witnesses told police they heard gunshots then saw people running from the scene, while others left in a vehicle. On the day of the shooting, no suspects were located at the scene.
Police did not say how they connected Roman to the shooting but said additional charges may be filed in the following days.
Roman is being held while awaiting a preliminary arraignment, police said.
Investigators extended their heartfelt condolences to Carter’s family and thanked the public for submitting tips in the case. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the station at 717-564-2550 or submit a tip at SwataraPolice.org.
