Halloween parades: When and where to find one near you

NOTE: This story has been updated to correct the time of the New Cumberland parade.

Celebrate the spooky season with a Halloween parade - there are plenty to choose from in our area, and lots of options for when you’d like to enjoy a few costumed ghouls and ghosts making their way down Main Street.

Here’s a look at some of the upcoming parades in Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry counties:

Mechanicsburg: Oct. 12

The parade starts at 7 p.m. and will travel down W. Keller Street from Broad Street to S. Arch Street, turning on Arch Street and then turning again on W. Simpson Street, ending at S. George Street.

Hershey: Oct. 13

The parade begins at 7 p.m. near the Hershey Theatre, and will travel west on Caracas Avenue, turn right on Valley Road, right again on Chocolate Avenue and right onto Ceylon Avenue, ending at the Hershey Company parking lot.

Middletown: Oct. 18

The parade will begin at 7 p.m. The start will be at Mill and Race Street, then north to Water Street, left on Water to Union St, left on Union and end at Karns Market.

Marysville: Oct. 18

Parade begins at 6:30pm at Perry Lodge, and will travel south on Maple Avenue to Verbeke Street, turn right on Front Street, left on Lincoln Street, right on Cassell Street, Right on Church Street and end at Bethany United Methodist Church.

New Cumberland: Oct. 19

The parade starts at 7 p.m. at Bridge Street and is hosted by New Cumberland River Rescue.

Newport: Oct. 20

The parade starts at 7 p.m.

East Pennsboro Halloween Parade, Oct. 20

The parade will start at 7 p.m. and run from the high school parking lot to the township building.

Mount Holly Springs, Oct. 20

The parade will start at 7 p.m at the Mt. Holly Elementary School on Mooreland Avenue, then follow West Pine Street, North Baltimore Avenue, Butler Street and finish on Mooreland Avenue.

Grantville: Oct. 21

The parade will begin at 7 p.m.

Lower Swatara: Oct. 21

The parade will start at 6 p.m. at the Lions Club Field on Theodore Avenue. It will turn right onto Nielsen Drive, then left onto Donald Avenue, left onto Burd Road, continuing to Richard Avenue, left on Greenwood Drive and ends at the Lions Club building.

Halifax: Oct 23

The parade will start at 6 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park, then will travel right on Rise street, left on Third Street across Market Street, left on Armstrong Street, left on Second Street and will finish back at the park.

Newville: Oct. 25

The parade starts at 7 p.m.

Shippensburg: Oct. 26

The parade starts at 7 p.m.

Camp Hill: Oct. 26

The parade will start at 6 p.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church on Market Street, then continue west to 24th Street, then from 24th to Walnut Street, and will end at the Camp Hill borough building.

Carlisle, Oct: 27

The parade starts at 7 p.m. and will go west on E. North Street to Hanover Street, then south on Hanover Street to Willow Street and east on Willow Street.

Duncannon: Oct. 30

The parade will start at 3 p.m.
