CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The state of Ohio is handing out $5 million in grants to thirteen wetland restoration projects in eleven Ohio counties, including Medina and Mahoning, through the Ohio River Basin H2Ohio Wetland Grant Program that Gov. Mike DeWine announced in July.

The program offers grants up to $500,000 for wetland projects that “address nutrient loading and contribute to water quality improvement in the Ohio River and its tributaries,” states a Wednesday new release from Gov. Mike DeWine and Mary Mertz, director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
