Live With Purpose Soup Kits

Join JVC in making Soup Kits! JVC provides dry ingredients for a healthy soup, which volunteers prepare and portion out into pouches which feed up to 6 people. Soup kits will be donated to local organizations and schools including Maree G. Farring Elementary, Beans and Bread, Asylee Women’s Enterprise, and many others.

Supplies – to make 1 Soup Kit
1/2 Cup Green Split Peas
1/2 Cup Barley
1 Cup Red Beans
1/2 cup lentils
1/3 cup beef bouillon
1/4 cup dried chopped/minced onion
2 Tablespoons Italian Seasoning
2 Tablespoons Tomato Powder
Label with Instructions
Label to decorate
Pouch/Bag/Jar (contact JVC for specifics)
Measuring cups and spoons

Instructions:
Using the above ingredients, scoop each amount into a jar or pouch.
Decorate a blank label with well wishes (“Enjoy the soup!”).
After sealing the bag, place a label with instructions on how to use the soup kit as well as the decorated label.

If you are interested in buying supplies for this project or want more information, fill out the form below. All requests need a minimum of 3 business days to process and prepare materials for pick up.

Soup kit supplies can be picked up starting January 3. Please note that JVC’s pick up hours at the Weinberg Park Heights JCC are Mondays 8:30-11am, Wednesdays 12:30-3:30pm, and Thursdays 3-6pm.  Please stay in your car and call 410-843-7476. Any other pickup/drop off times must be arranged with JVC staff. Projects cannot be left at the front desk per the JCC’s COVID-19 protocols. Completed projects should be returned by the end of January.
