Full-time, Exempt

Salary Range: $68,640 – $88,545 DOQ

Position is responsible for performing professional work in planning, budgeting, organizing, and directing municipal public service operations, including but not limited to:  Organizes and directs engineering projects, development review, street maintenance, ADA management, right-of-ways, sanitation, storm water, public works maintenance programs, and building maintenance.  Performs advanced engineering requiring the exercise of independent judgment in a variety of assignments for the City. Oversees and sets goals for Public Works Operations.  Tracks organizational efforts and projects to ensure successful outcomes and maximize public safety.  Acts as the City Engineer as required and makes recommendations and conducts studies as necessary to support other City departments in conjunction with departmental projects. Work is performed as Assistant Director under the general direction of the Public Works Director and requires independent judgment and initiative.

 

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with degree in civil engineering (Masters degree preferred). Holder of P.E. license in the state of Florida or ability to obtain certification in one year. 5 – 10 years progressive leadership experience in the administration, construction and design of building, bridges, storm water, roadway construction management. Valid Florida Driver’s License. Complete the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within 6 months of completion of probationary period.
