Fun and entertaining

Can’t judge a book by its cover which unfortunately is what Trav assumed when he first met Derek. After the misconception is when the fun starts, interesting characters, entertaining and some hot sexy romantic romance.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. Definitely recommend this book.

Coming straight from reading the Hidden Species series and then Here Be Dragon books, I just had to give this series a try.

At first I found it hard to be interested in a theme park universe, but eventually was drawn in, especially seeing Derek work his magic when catastrophe hits. Twice. My first reaction Derek echoed Trav’s initial reaction, in that he uses his charm and mega-watt smile to win people over. There’s a certain Hollywood male actor who does his own dangerous, hair-raising stunts on high action movies who, whenever being interviewed, always has this impenetrable, happy, smiling facade, which to me, screams false, and it was that falseness that had me reacting badly to Derek. But due to the author’s clever writing and the more that Derek became known and accessible, the more I saw him and warmed towards him. Derek is a lovely character and the love story between him and Trav and how they are there for each other is a joy.

And knowing that the next book is about Dimi, well, that’s a no-brainer, it’s definitely a must read.

Derek is the Assistant Director at Joy Universe theme parks and resorts. He’s 37, loves his life and is a charming, likeable person who is loved by everyone. He’s friendly with everyone but not close to anyone. Trav is an enigma that fascinates him.

Trav is a 25 year old dancer who performs on Broadway. He jumps in to help Derek when over 100 of the entertainment staff at struck down with food poisoning. He dislikes Derek on sight as he reminds him of every jock/frat boy who bullied him and made his life miserable in High School and college. He gets nervous around popular men with charisma.

They get off on the wrong foot but get their HEA after a few little bumps in the road.

This book has a bit of humour, a bit of drama, no angst and some lighthearted, fun moments. It was easy to read and very enjoyable. This is the first book I’ve read by Louisa Masters and I happily recommend it.

So much joy!

After reading this book I want to go visit Joy Universe!
It sounds like the best resort and theme park!!!
Even after all the drama JU goes through!
And Derek! That poor man is the golden boy during a crapstorm!
But during the storm, he finds someone who grounds him and they fall in love 😍
Trav is such a sweet soul and when he first meets Derek, things are a little rocky.... but lust at first sight takes over 😍
There is no sexy scenes in this story, it’s all fade to black which makes this author a good gateway to MM ROMANCE.
But I was totally immersed in their world, in their drama and I loved Joy Universe!!!!

Definitely cannot wait for the next one!!

At rhe start I felt Derek was almost smarmy until we got to know him. I like Trav and the way he faced his fear but this was a long time coming. The read felt slow in parts and could have been slightly condensed for a quicker , better flowing read.

Overall a likable book and a good look at how the JU world works for books going forward.

I knew after reading the Franklin U series that this one would tick all of my boxes, but I still held off. I have no idea why, because it’s fantastic! I’m disappointed with how short the book was, but that’s always my complaint when something is really good. It seems to me like the length of books is shrinking, and maybe the definition of book vs novella has changed when I wasn’t paying attention. BUT it doesn’t diminish the fact that the world and character development is solid and the story is excellent. I’m excited to keep reading into the series, and I know I’m going to be sad when it’s over.
