Bio:

Dr. D’Amico has practiced and taught clinically in occupational therapy for over 30 years in a variety of settings such as pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and hospital based in-patient and out-patient programs working with people across the lifespan (new born to 107 yo). Areas of specialty include early intervention, school based practice, low vision, sensory integration and community mental health. She has taught academically for almost 20 years in Kentucky, Georgia and now Florida. She was part of the founding faculty for the OT Department at Spalding University, Louisville, Kentucky in 1997. She has been invited to present on many topics at local, state, regional, national and international conferences and programs for occupational therapists, educators, parents and care providers. She has mentored several student research projects across a variety of topics related to mental health, early intervention, sensory processing, rehabilitation, education, and leadership. Dr. D’Amico has several publications in refereed journals and newsletters. She also serves as an Associate Editor on the American Journal of Occupational Therapy and reviewer for the British Journal of Occupational Therapy. Dr. D’Amico’s experiences as a clinician and educator add value to the OTD program here at Nova Southeastern University Tampa Bay.
