by Jennette McCurdy

It was very hard for me to put this book down. I finished it in a week. Could be triggering for those with eating disorders and certain traumas especially those endured during childhood.

Fourth Wing

I loved the magical/fantasy story - great characters and worldbuilding. I could have dinner without the "spicy romance" parts, which somehow seemed gratuitous/unnecessary and took me out of the story a bit.

Tress Of The Emerald Sea
by Brandon Sanderson

View in Library Catalog

This fairy tale is the newest addition to the Brandon Sanderson Cosmere universe but can be read as a standalone a story. The story reads as a light-hearted tale of true love in the style of William Goldman's timeless classic The Princess Bride. But Brandon Sanderson has a voice of his own and creates rich and wonderful characters on a completely novel and exciting world. Even if you have not read any of the other cosmere books, you will be able to follow and enjoy this book. However, aficionados of the Cosmere will be able to pick up on the many Easter eggs and references to elements of his past works in that universe. The unusual choice of using a single narrator does not hamper the elegant pacing of this story. Well I found some elements to be predictable, that didn't detract from my enjoyment of the storytelling and character development.
