Any thoughts?

Was the leaving by “mutual consent” really mutual?

Must admit it came as a shock when I read of it this bleary eyed morning.

Rumours on Molmix from "in the know" sources for a month or more that he wouldn't be here next season.

I think he's missing his family, has run out of motivation and has indicated that he would like to leave. He almost achieved too much too soon. I think seventh and Euro semis is beyond our realistic level so there was nowhere else to go. That is probably true for a lot of the team too who have lost momentum.

My hope and expectation is that they have someone to announce shortly after the end of the season i.e. next week. This doesn't seem to have been a rash decision and we should have a good pick of managers.

Will the new manager be Portuguese? Probably has to be.

The fun thing is to see who we get versus who the Baggies get. I doubt there is much overlap on our shortlists

Maybe Jeff himself will try managing the team .
As his track record shows he likes doing just this .
Hope to fuck they have a plan and get a big name manager in .

Hello All,

Nuno signed a new contract earlier in the season, so you would assume plans / transfer budget would have been discussed and agreed then. This is a strange one and might be a combination of things. Fosun have recently changed their mind and Nuno is a casualty of COVID. He hasn’t been able to see his family much this last 18 months.

Whatever, he is gone now and will be sorely missed.

If pushed, surely Fosun will announce his successor in the coming days. I think the new Manager inevitably has to be Portuguese or else a lot of our better Player’s will quickly leave.

Cheers

Paul.

Yes COVID and family in Portugal not helped .
He looks like he’s aged a lot  from when he first came .
3 year contract extension is this a mendes plan ,money laundering .
same as some of the players that have been brought for big money sorry but I sniff a tax rat 🐀.
Hope fosun  have a good plan or things might go tits up .
If no money why change manager as new manager new players is usually what happens .

I read the other day that all the Nuno Team will continue to be paid until they find new employment. Maybe this was part of the mutual consent agreement?

Not sure who I want to replace Nuno. Still in a bit of shock / apathy mode. Typical Wolves, the roller coaster ride continues!

That's standard if a contract is terminated early. Question is how long has Nuno been paid for

It's disappointing to me to see so many Wolves 'fans' wanting him out despite being mid table. There's a group of fans that are never satisfied. Probably the same for every club.

I'm finding that the struggle to get to the Prem is almost more enjoyable than actually being here.

The fact that Nuno and his team will be paid until they find new employment suggests this was initiated by the club and was more 'termination' than 'resignation'.

Which disappoints me.

I don't think Nuno had hit his ceiling and wasn't going to be able to take us any further. This season was a very abnormal one for many reasons and should have been consigned to the bin without putting too much emphasis on the fact that we hadn't progressed from the previous 2. This has been a building exercise, based around his vision and I reckon we were still building, growing and improving. And now the rug has been pulled.

Yes it's all very strange.

I doubt we'll be paying them for long. They'll have jobs within a month unless they want time off.

At least we won't be scraping around for Saunders//Zenga/Lambert types anymore

The word from "Top Fox" on Mol Mix (he who first said that Nuno was off) is that there are two Portuguese, a Spaniard and an Englishman in the running for manager

I hope that English manager is Neil Warnock (colin wanker). He is awesome yell

But I have decided to look at this whole Nuno situation as Wolves growing up and becoming a proper football club. While Nuno IS Wolves family and part of the new DNA of the club, this club has ambitions. There has been lots of rumours and speculation about his departure - some of which was saying that he personally selected Semedo (called by some as the worst buy of the season in the Prem) and Podence over players who have been more successful this year. So while I feel that his departure will be known at Wolves as the "day that football died" (in the same theme as the day that music died), I hope it is also the day that we grew up. Many Chelsea fans were incensed when they sacked Lampard as he was one of their own, and now they are eating their words. I REALLY hope that it is the same situation for Wolves - that we get a manager who takes us to the next level and builds a stronger, more competitive team.

All this said, I am more than willing to eat my words when we are in the championship in 2022/23... And I will always love Nuno. Unless he goes to Tottenham and thrashes Wolves. Then I will hate him ;)

Tim

There was bound to be an attachment to Nuno after he delivered us from darkness, but it was going to end eventually. Something hasn't been right all season and it didn't look like it was going to get sorted out.

I did hope that there would be more planning for a dynasty at Wolves. We had a brand of exciting counter-attacking football in the first three years and I hoped that would become ingrained and that new managers would work within that framework. That seems to be the way to sustainable growth where players are bought on their ability to fit a system rather than all change when a new manager arrives
