Hi!

as suggested here https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/discussions/967 i'm posting this issue to this list:

While MS Intune performs/triggers an update of Firefox, the Firefox windows encounters these problems: network connections don't work any more , some GUI operations are missing or stuck

I described this in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1788173

Did anyone here have similar issues? Is this related to Intune at all?

Regards,
David

I don’t think this is related to Intune at all as I’ve observed this on my home computer for years now. I’m on the Firefox beta channel at home (so frequent updates) and I can always tell if there is a newer version being staged by the Firefox update service as network stops working within Firefox (and the GUI does start “acting funny”). If I open the “About” dialog, sure enough, update is ready, restart Firefox, and after doing so, all is well again. It’s odd, but I got used to it 😊

Interesting. I use Firefox since it exists and don't remember ever having this.
I only noticed it happening recently, roughly a few weeks ago.

I'll set up a fresh copy of Firefox in a virtual machine, to see if this happens there too.

Regards,
David

Actually, I already have Firefox in a VM. It is currently at version 15.0.1 and an update is ready to install to version 106.0.5 (as written in the about dialog).
There are no network or GUI issues to see.

David

Yes, I should’ve added that outside of my home computer, I’ve never encountered this issue on any other device I’ve used Firefox on. As such, I never looked into it any deeper because it’s not a major issue and I know what the fix is for that computer. I simply replied to your question because I was seeing the same on a device that doesn’t even know what Intune is 😊
