Supplemental Psychiatric Education for Primary Care (SPEPC)

This online behavioral health education program is available at no cost to you. It contains 12 modules.

Behavioral health initiative (BHI) modules are aimed at helping primary care providers manage patients with behavioral health conditions.

Each module takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Continuing education credit is available for certain modules. This program was created through the generous funding of The Moses Taylor Foundation and AllOne Foundation.

Module 103: Mood disorders
*Module 104: Opioid use disorders/addictions
*Module 105: Substance misuse disorders/addictions
Module 106: Chronic pain
Module 107: Adult trauma
Module 108: Child trauma
Module 109: OCD, dissociative, somatic symptom disorders
*Module 110: ADHD, eating disorders, sleep/wake disorders
Module 111: Psychiatric diagnosing, psychoses, bipolarity
Module 112: Emergencies, when to consult a psychiatrist

* Not available for CE/CME credit

Registration and enrollment

Step 1: Go to SPEPC registration page.
Step 2: Enter new user information and click “create account.”
Step 3: Check your email to complete registration. Allow 24 to 48 hours for registration email.
Step 4: Once you receive the welcome email, click on “set password” to continue. Save your password to log in.
Step 5: Click on “BHI module 101” under “learning library” to enroll.
Step 6: Get started.

Continuing medical education (CME)/continuing education (CE)


You’ll earn CME/CE credit for each completed module if you:

  • Earn an 80% or above on the post-test
  • Complete an evaluation.
The CE office will review and upload eligible/completed credits to your CE transcript on a monthly basis.

Follow these instructions to access your CME/CE credits:

  •  Log into our EthosCE Portal and click “my account.” Select “my activities” to review completed activities.
  •  Complete the evaluation at the end of the module(s) to receive credit. Allow time for CME/CE credits to reflect on your transcript. Contact the CE office with any concerns: cce@geisinger.edu.
