Thanks for your interest in mentoring for the 406 Labs Spring 2021 Incubator.

We need mentors with substantial experience building and running successful businesses, along with some subject-matter experts.  The participants in this program will be business-plan stage teams (e.g. not likely to have launched a formal business yet) who are:

1) A student, faculty, or alumni of MSU, or a Montana resident thinking about or in the early stages of launching a business in Montana.
2) Companies that may have received grant funding, but have not yet accepted any investment capital other than from family and friends for this business.
3) Committed to allocating 10+ hours per week for 10 weeks to progressing a business plan, including 2 hours per week participating actively in online training modules with the other teams in this program, and 1 hour per week working with an assigned mentor.
4) Committed to developing/refining a written business plan to present at the completion of the program.

Our curriculum is carefully designed for companies that meet these criteria.

We're looking for mentors who can volunteer 1-2 hours per week to help the teams apply a weekly training exercise to their specific business issues and progress over the course of the program to finish with a more clear and comprehensive business plan for how they will progress. Each week you will see the training material in advance and then schedule a web meeting at your convenience with your team to review and discuss how it applies to them.  

The program will commence the week of March 1st and run through to the week of May 10th.  We will have a standing two-hour time block each week when all teams will gather (virtually) for the training module. You are invited to participate in those calls but it is not required. However, we would like you to try to attend the capstone presentations week of May 10th for 2 hours to help provide feedback and scoring.
