Eric Reid '79 Interest form
Eric Reid '79 is an original member of the Miami HEAT. He enters his 35th season of calling the action for the HEAT and is among the longest tenured broadcasters in the NBA.

Reid will visit Ithaca College and the Park School of Communications on Friday, February 17.  During his time on campus, Reid will host on open session for students and meet with broadcasting students to provide insight and feedback.

Reid has broadcast 2,472 regular season HEAT games during the franchise’s first 34 seasons, having joined the organization just prior to the team’s inaugural season in 1988-89. This season is his 46th consecutive year broadcasting basketball and his 32nd doing the play-by-play for the HEAT. Three times during his career (2017, 2018 and 2020) Reid has been named the Florida Sportscaster of the Year in voting done by his peers in the National Sports Media Association. Since 2005, Reid has won 20 regional Emmy Awards, including three for his play-by-play work in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Reid will describe the action for all preseason, regular season and postseason games carried on Bally Sports Sun. He also serves as a host for Bally Sports Sun’s Emmy award-winning Inside the HEAT series.
