SCHOOL-PARENT COMPACT
The school, parents and guardians; working collectively to provide the successful education of their children agree as follows:
School Responsibilities
All City Leadership Secondary School will:
1. Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards as follows:
a. The Administration will supervise the delivery of instruction by the teachers.
b. Teachers will plan and deliver the curriculum as set forth by the state.
c. Teachers will be involved in the assessment of all children.
2. Hold parent-teacher conferences twice a year during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement. Specifically, those conferences will be held:
a. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held twice a year.
i. November (date to be determined by NYCDOE)
ii. March (date to be determined by NYCDOE)
3. Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress. Specifically, the school will provide reports as folows:
a. Four times a year, the school will distribute report cards to students:
i. November
ii. February
iii. April
iv. June
4. Provide parents reasonable access to staff. Specifically, staff will be available for consultation with parents as follows:
a. ACLA has an open-door policy. “Open door” means that a parent may visit the school at any time to meet with administrators and teachers (we suggest you call the school before arriving) as long as the staff member is not involved with instruction or dealing with an urgent matter.
5. Involve parents in the planning, review, and improvement of the school’s parental involvement policy, in an organized, ongoing, and timely way.
6. Hold an annual meeting to inform parents of the school’s participation in Title I programs, and to explain the Title I requirements, and the right of parents to be involved in Title I programs. The school will invite to this meeting all parents of children participating in Title I and will encourage them to attend.
7. Provide information to parents of participating students in an understandable and uniform format, including alternative formats upon the request of parents with disabilities, and, to the extent practicable, in a language that parents can understand.
8. Provide to parents of participating children information in a timely manner about the use of Title I funds.
9. On the request of parents, provide opportunities for regular meetings for parents to formulate suggestions, and to participate, as appropriate, in decisions about the education of their children. The school will respond to any such suggestions as soon as practicably possible- practically, such meetings can be held during PA meetings.
10. Provide to each parent an individual student report about the performance of their child on the State assessment in at least math, language arts and reading. In High School, the parents will receive a transcript that lists their child’s yearly progress.
11. Provide each parent timely notice when their child has been assigned or has been taught for four (4) or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not highly qualified.
Parent Responsibilities:
We, as parents, will support our children’s learning in the following ways:
o Monitoring attendance.
o Making sure that homework is completed.
o Monitoring amount of television our children watch.
o Participating, as appropriate, in decisions relating to my children’s education.
o Promoting positive use of my child’s extracurricular time.
o Staying informed about my child’s education and communicating with the school by promptly reading all notices from the school or the school district either received by my child or by mail and responding, as appropriate.
o Serving, to the extent possible, on policy advisory groups, the Title I Policy Advisory Committee, the District wide Policy Advisory Council, the School Support Team or other school advisory or policy groups.

PACTO DE ESCUELA Y PADRES
La escuela, los padres y tutores; trabajando colectivamente para proporcionar una educación exitosa a sus hijos acuerdan lo siguente:
Responsabilidades de la escuela
La Escuela ACLA:
1. Propocionará alta calidad curriculo e instrucción en un ambiente de aprendizaje solidario y eficaz que permite a los niños participantes a cumplir con los siguientes estandares de logros académicos de estudiantes del estado:
a. La administración supervisará la entrega de instrucción por los maestros.
b. Los profesores planificarán y entregarán el curriculo como conjunto hacia adelante por el estado.
c. Los maestros estarán involucrados en la evaluación de todos los niños.
2. Tendrá reuniones dos veces al año durante el cual se discutirá este pacto en lo que se relaciona al logro individual del niño. Especificamente, las conferencias se celebrarán:
a. Conferencias de padres/maestros se llevarán a cabo dos veces al año
i. noviembre (fecha será determinada por NYCDOE)
ii. marzo (fecha será determinada por NYCDOE)
3. Proporcionará a los padres con frecuentes informes sobre el progreso de sus hijos. Especificamente, la escuela proporcionará informes de la siguiente manera:
a. Cuatro veces al ñno, la escuela distribuirá las calificaciones a los estudiantes:
i. noviembre
ii. febrero
iii. abril
iv. junio
4. Proporcionará a los padres acceso razonable a la facultad. Especificamente, la facultad estará disponible para la consulta con los padres de la siguiente manera:
a. ACLA tiene una póliza de puertas abiertas. “Puerta abierta” significa que un padre puede visitar la escuela en cualquier momento para reunirse con los administradores y profesores mientras el funcionario no este involucrado con la instrucción o tratando un caso de urgencia (le sugerimos que llame a la escuela antes de llegar).
5. Involucrará a los padres en la planificación, revisión, y en mejorar la póliza de participación de los padres de la escuela, de una manera organizada, constante y oportuna.
6. Tendrá una reunión anual para informar a los padres de la participación de los programas del Titulo I de la escuela y para explicar los requisitos del Titulo I, y el derecho de los padres a involucrarse en estos programas. La escuela invitará a todos los padres de los niños a que participen en el programa Titulo I y estará para animarlos a asistir a esta reunión.
7. Proporcionará información a los padres de estudiantes participantes en un formato uniforme y comprensible, incluyendo formatos alternativos a petición de los padres con discapacidades y, a la medida de lo posible, en un idioma que los padres entiendan.
8. Proporcionará los padres de los niños participantes información oportuna sobre el uso de los fondos del Titulo I.
9. A petición de los padres, proporcionará oportunidades para reunirse regularmente para que los padres hagan sugerencias apropiadas en decisiones sobre la educación de sus hijos . La escuela responderá a cualquier tal sugerencia tan pronto como sea posible-practicamente, esas reuniones pueden celebrarse durante las reuniones de la Asociación de Padres.
10. Proporcionará a cada padre un reporte estudiantil sobre el desempeño de su hijo en la evaluación del estado en por lo menos matematicas, lenguaje y lectura. En la escuela secundaria, los padres recibirán una hoja de transcripción que muestra el progreso anual de su hijo.
11. Proporcionará a cada padre oportuno aviso cuando su hijo se le ha asignado o ha tenido instrucción por cuatro (4) o mas semanas consecutivas por un maestro que no esta altamente calificado.
Responsabilidades de los padres
Nosotros, como padres, apoyaremos el aprendizaje de nuestros hijos de las siguentes maneras:
o Monitoreo en asistencia.
o Asegurandome de que la tarea sea completada.
o Monitoreo de la cantidad de television que mi hijo ve.
o Participando, apropiadamente, en las decisiones relativas de la educación de mi hijo.
o Promover el uso positivo del tiempo extracurricular de mi hijo.
o Estar informado sobre la educación de mi hijo y comunicarme con la escuela leyendo todos los avisos de la escuela o el distrito escolar ya sea recibido por mi hijo o por correo y respondiendo, apropiadamente.
o Sirviendo, a la medida de lo posible, en la póliza de grupos consultivos, la póliza del Comite Consultivo Titulo I, el Consejo Consultivo del Distrito, el Equipo de Apoyo Escolar u otros grupos escolares de asesoramiento o póliza de grupos consultivos.
