ESOL Achievers Interest Form
ESOL Achievers is a small non-profit organization based in Gainesville, Florida. Our mission aims to provide support and guidance to immigrant high school students, specifically those in the ESOL program(English to Speakers of other Languages) at Gainesville High School to forge their unique path to achieve their professional, educational, and personal goals through mentorship and tutorship. Our organization works with and supports over 100 ESOL students at GHS, with around 80% of Latino students from low-income families.

Are you interested in being a mentor or a tutor?

As a mentor you will be regularly meeting with the student you are assigned. You will help them navigate finishing high school along with college prep. You will be provided with a curriculum to help structure your meeting. How often and when you meet is totally up to you and your mentee, as we know you both have busy schedules. As a mentor, your role goes further than simply an academic relationship, we hope friendships will be made as well. 

For tutors, there will be specific days each week that will be available at Gainesville High School. You would go on the days that best suit your schedule and choose the subject area you feel most comfortable tutoring in. Subjects may be reading, algebra, biology, etc.
