We are excited to be offering the Recovery Specialist Training series!!!
If you are interested in registering for a Recovery Specialist Training in Southeast PA in an area that has NOT yet been scheduled, please fill out this form and we will contact you with dates, times locations, and registration details as soon as they are available.
The Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) and Certified Family Recovery Specialist (CFRS) Curriculum is presented in several formats in various locations. You will be notified when trainings get scheduled and how to register.
Note that some trainings are sponsored and may have further specific criteria for eligibility in addition to the criteria below, such as county of residence or employment, etc. These trainings may have a further screening and interviewing process due to the high volume of applications that these trainings may receive.
The CRS and CFRS Credentials are certified by the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) and are designed for people entering or already working in the recovery field. The Council is a PCB-approved provider of education, offering the 78 hours of education required to apply for these credentials. More information on these and other credentials can be explored by visiting the PCB website at
www.pacertboard.org.
Please note that The Council is NOT the certifying board, but will provide participants with certificates for hours of training completed that the participant then submits with their credentialing application to the PCB.
Certification for CRS requires candidates to currently have a minimum of 18 months continuous lived recovery experience as of the first day of training, and to provide a copy of a High School Diploma, GED, or college transcripts, complete an application, sign an ethics agreement, and pass a multiple choice exam.
Certification for CFRS requires that candidates have a history of lived experience of being directly impacted by a family member or loved one's substance use disorder, provide a copy of a High School Diploma, GED, or college transcripts, complete an application, sign an ethics agreement, and submit letters of reference.
A $150 credential administration fee is payable to PCB upon making application and is NOT included in any fees for training.
