The New Mexico Library Association is calling for proposals for our theme for the annual conference in Carlsbad this October. Dragons in the Dark asks New Mexican librarians to come together and talk about tough situations and “impossible” problems. What dragons has your library been dealing with? How did you slay them? Or what are you doing to confront them?

Possible topics may include:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Book Banning/ Censorship

  • Intellectual Freedom

  • Conflicts with Library Stakeholders 

  • Digital Equity

  • Social Media and Youth

  • Burnout

  • Board Dynamics

  • Emotional Wellbeing

  • Political Climate

  • Financial Challenges

  • Other Challenges

*Members-at-Large will reach out to SIGs to check whether or not they want a meeting at the conference.
