oSTEM Leadership Application 2023-2024
Hello and thank you for your interest in applying to be on the leadership team for Out in STEM (oSTEM)!

Please note that everyone is welcome to apply for these positions, regardless of sexual or gender identity. The only requirement is to be an undergraduate student currently enrolled at the University of Florida with plans to maintain this status throughout the 2023-2024 academic year. We want to provide a safe space for our members to make friends, enjoy themselves, and prepare for a  successful professional career. We offer these opportunities to everyone regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or major. You do not have to be LGBTQ+ or in STEM to be a part of our community or leadership team!

About oSTEM: For those unfamiliar with oSTEM, welcome! We are the UF chapter of Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM). Our chapter is dedicated to providing social and professional development opportunities to our members, as well as promoting LGBTQ+ interests and inclusion at UF. For more information, please check out our Instagram: @ostemflorida

Our eboard and suborganization election processes are a little different, each are listed below:
  • Eboard Elections (treasurer, secretary): All applicants will attend a short virtual interview with the oSTEM president, these interviews will be recorded. To protect the privacy of our applicants, these interviews will not be freely posted online but will be shared with oSTEM members upon request. Once all interviews are completed, oSTEM members will cast their votes for who should hold available positions.
  • Suborganization Directors (PiE, PiCALS, PiP Directors): All applicants will complete short interviews with the oSTEM Vice President, who will select the best candidate to fulfill the position. Please also note that many of our suborganizations work as a team of two directors (either co-directors or a primary and assistant director), these distinctions will be determined by the vice president as they deem appropriate.
