Thank you for filling out the RES Orchestra Registration!

Your child will have the opportunity to learn the VIOLIN, VIOLA or CELLO this year. String instrument instruction starts in 3rd grade and unfortunately, there will not be string beginner lessons available in 4th or 5th grade. (Band instruction starts in 4th grade... students can continue on their string instrument in 4th grade, choose to wait and start learning a band instrument in 4th grade or switch from strings to a band instrument in 4th.) So it is important to join orchestra this year if your child wishes to learn to play a string instrument.

All classes take place during school hours. Concerts are held in the evening, after school. This year we plan to go back to traditional concerts in the winter and late spring. (Dates will be shared once they are finalized.)

My child has my permission to participate in the String Orchestra Program at Rockburn Elementary School. I fully understand that students are expected to make the commitment for the entire school year. My child will attend all concerts unless there is a family emergency or illness.
