Hello! Gator mission:brain is the newly formed UF-affiliated chapter of mission:brain, an international nonprofit organization with the goal of providing neurosurgical expertise and resources to patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in underserved areas around the world. Although this organization is centered around neurosurgery, this club caters to anyone interested in learning more about a career in global surgery!
In collaboration with the Global Neurosurgery Interest Group (GNSIG), our latest and most exciting venture is developing a podcast, focused on shining a light on the work of lower-and-middle-income country (LMIC) leaders around the world, hearing their insights in terms of research, policy/advocacy, "decolonization" of global surgery, ethics, culture, and much more! We would love to have students from diverse disciplines and backgrounds. You don't have to be interested solely in global surgery to join (please see more about the ways you can be involved below).
