Students in the Arts

 

As lifelong musicians with musicology backgrounds in higher education, Jenn and Lucie know the skills it takes to sustain a successful career in the arts. We have designed a range of programs offering dedicated spaces for high school students to work on arts-specific writing and communications skills that they will need to succeed in college and beyond.

Applying to College?

We coach students interested in pursuing careers in music and the arts in preparing their portfolios and auditions. Even if music is more of a hobby for you, you should still leverage your experience of practice and performance in your college applications. We will teach you how to frame your musicianship as a launching point for your college learning experience.

We work with students one-on-one, and we also collaborate with music teachers to provide pre-college workshops for students in their studio.

Communicating Sound Programs

This workshop, developed in collaboration with percussionist and music educator Chris Graham, is designed to help young musicians become better writers and communicators.

This series uses the arts as a lens for thinking critically about the performing arts, culture, and society. You will leave with the communications skills you need to succeed in college.
