Internships

The internship program for Congressman Dwight Evans is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain valuable work experience and insight into how our government works. Each intern will receive a small monthly stipend.

Each intern will be asked to do a variety of tasks including logging policy opinions and messages, drafting policy letters, and assisting with resource and asset mapping.
Additional intern responsibilities will include:
• Conducting Constituent services & casework intake
• Tracking and recording constituent messages
• Drafting constituent correspondence
• Supporting legislative research and data collection
• Compiling press clips for communications staff
• Assisting with Constituent Outreach Projects
• Completing a Policy-In-Action Project

The internship works to incorporate aspects of both the DC office and the Philadelphia office to give our cohort the opportunity to experience the full scope of the work completed in a congressional office.

Interns will work directly with the DC staff to focus on projects that support Congressman Evans' legislative goals AND with the district staff on projects that are geared towards delivering constituent services and resources to constituents living in Congressman Evans' district. In addition, interns may be assigned to assist staff members on specific projects or on specific issue areas.

The internship cohort will also work together to complete a Policy-In-Action Project that will require research into aspects of both policy and constituent services.
